- Story Text: Late-night hosts Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Colbert, John Oliver, Seth Meyers and Jimmy Kimmel are bringing their shows back to television on Monday (October 2), following the end of the Hollywood writers' strike.
The comedians stopped production in May when the strike began.
Potential audience members waited in line on Hollywood Boulevard, hoping for a reserve ticket to the show.
One of them was nurse Beverly Springer, 50, from Los Angeles, who says she is Jimmy Kimmel's number one fan.
She told Reuters "I missed him, we missed him. I'm a nurse. My patients, that's what gets them through the night when they can't sleep at night. Late show, all the different shows. We're happy, we're excited. We turn the TVs on for them."
Mark Nankissoor, 33, from Toronto, Canada, was also waiting in line.
He said "I missed the interviews, I missed the comedy, I missed the jokes, I missed all of it, I missed all of it."
Asked about the writers strike, Nankissoor said, "I think it's sad that they had to go on strike to get what they wanted, but I'm happy that they came to an agreement and it's all back now."
