- Story Text: Mrs. Theodorakis, wife of Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis, is in Paris resting with her two children. She and the youngsters were smuggled out of Greece in a tourist yacht to rejoin her husband in France.
Mr. Theodorakis, recently released from detention in his native Greece, is currently on a five-day visit to Yugoslavia. The 44-year-old composer is believed to be suffering from tuberculosis, and has been invited to spend as long as he wants in Yugoslavia, continuing his treatment and creative work.
Mrs. Theodorakis and her children -- eleven-year-old Margharita and George, nine -- told a French magazine that they were able to leave Greece on an Italian pleasure yacht by posing as foreign tourists.
The hardest part of the 40-hour trip to Southern Italy, according to Mrs. Theodorakis, was keeping George quiet. as he only spoke Greek.
