  • Story Text:Young conservatives from across the nation traveled to Phoenix, Arizona for America Fest 2023, the annual conference held by far-right group Turning Point USA.
    Elsa Personett, 18, traveled from Texas for the 4-day event. Next year’s election will be the first she can vote in.
    “I will be voting for Trump. He did a really great job leading our country in this last, in these last few years that he was leading,” she said.
    Lidia Harvey, 17, a high school student from Tennessee, is also casting her first-ever vote for Donald Trump.
    “How much of our government is like a joke right now? And I just I completely agree with our governments being run by the wrong people. And we just need to fix that with this next coming election,” Harvey said.
    Concerns about the state of the economy, securing borders, and the cost of living were also raised, with some attributing these challenges to the current administration.
    "I think that with Biden in presidency, I mean, I respect him as a president, but I think we've struggled a lot, especially the expenses as a college student," said Jessica Gómez, a Latina college student from California.
