Summary:Apollo Eleven made the first trip to the Moon with its crew of three, Neil Armstrong, Air Force Colonel Edwin Aldrin and another airman, Colonel Michael Collins. They made the landing on the Moon at 1256 GMT on July 21, 1969. As Armstrong had quoted, it was a giant leap forward for mankind - and most of it was relayed the 240,000 miles to Earth in ghostly pictures like this. In later expeditions the US landed ten other men on the Moon.
