- Story Text: Bolivian miners on Saturday (January 27) celebrated the traditional Mining Carnival parade on the streets of Potosi.
The event kicked off with the miners descending from the mines to the main avenue of Potosi, where miners joined the carnival parade, dancing, singing, and showing off their work tools, such as picks and shovels.
The Mining Carnival is performed by mining workers organized in fraternities and during the celebration, they pay homage to 'Tata Q'aqcha, known as the god who protects the miners.
