  • Story Text: Football fans in Chicago will be able to spice up a game day food favorite when the first buffalo wing sauce infused with the psychoactive ingredient tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) launches on Friday (February 2) ahead of next month’s Super Bowl Sunday in Las Vegas.
    Cresco Labs' Good News cannabis brand is collaborating with The Fifty/50, a Chicago sports bar, to create a hot sauce that will get you a spicy kind of high as fans gear up for the big game.
    "To be able to bring this wing sauce to life and have people enjoy it while they're watching the game should definitely help fans get along better," said Cresco Labs spokesperson Jason Erkes. "Whether they're cheering for the 49ers or the Chiefs, it'll be a very mellow celebration for everybody."
    Super Bowl Sunday is annually the biggest day in the United States for chicken wing enthusiasts.
    According to the National Chicken Council, around 1.45 billion chicken wings were eaten during 2023's Super Bowl matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles.
    The limited edition offering is made by infusing distilled cannabis oil with The Fifty/50 sports bar's mild buffalo sauce.
    Each 10-ounce container has 100 milligrams of THC.
    "We've gotten quite a few calls and a lot of attention," said Erkes. "People asking how much they can buy, how much it's going to be and we expect a mad rush on Friday when things go on sale."
    Good News' 'Big Game' wing sauce goes on sale Friday at select dispensaries in the Chicago area.
