British singer-songwriter, Robbie Williams celebrates his 50th birthday on Tuesday (February 13).
Williams shot to fame as the youngest member of the 90s pop group “Take That”, which became one of the most successful British boy bands of that decade.
After leaving the band in 1995, Williams went on to launch a successful solo career which has seen him topping charts and performing in front of tens of thousands around the world.
In 2010, Williams re-joined “Take That”, helping to record their album “Progress”, but left the band again in 2011 to re-focus on solo projects.
The singer has openly addressed his struggles with his mental health and substance abuse, overcoming several stints in rehab throughout his career. The singer said in an interview with TV host, Jonathan Ross, that it was singer Sir Elton John who convinced him to get sober.
Williams married his long-term partner Ayda Field in California in 2010, with whom he now has four children.
He recently looked back at his life and career in a new Netflix documentary series, which tracks his journey from a 16-year-old boy band member to an entertainer and father of four.
Throughout his career, Williams has received a record 18 Brit Award nominations and has won Best British Male Artist four times.
