- Story Text: People living near a river running in Cobija, Bolivia, began returning to their homes on Sunday (March 3) as floodwaters receded after the Acre River overflowed into the city.
Flood victim, Yeny Cano, returned to her home to find her belongings ruined and her house covered in mud.
While standing on brown water covering her living room, with broken furniture and muddy windows, Cano told Reuters the water came up to her home's ceiling.
Heavy rains have hit the Andean region, the Amazon, and the valleys of central Bolivia.
As of Sunday, Civil Defence reported a total of 36,155 families affected by the floods, 43 dead, two missing and 842 houses completely destroyed.
