- Story Text: Russian President Vladimir Putin and leaders of Kazakhstan, Laos, Guinea-Bissau, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, Turkmenistan, and Cuba took part in wreath laying ceremony on Thursday (May 9) at the end of the Victory Day parade in Moscow.
Russia marked the Soviet Union's victory over Nazi Germany in World War Two as relations with the West spiral deeper into crisis over the advance of Russian troops against Ukraine's Western-backed forces.
Putin and the foreign presidents laid flowers to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier near the Kremlin wall.
There were no leaders from the West.
