- Story Text: Tourists in Spain enjoyed the unseasonal heat as they visited the sites of the southern city of Ronda on Sunday (April 14) but expressed concern over the effects of climate change on the planet.
Spain experienced summer heat for a third day in a row on Sunday (April 14), although the hot weather was subsiding in the northern part of the country, the national weather agency AEMET said.
Locals and tourists have been taking advantage of the unusually high temperature for April taking on outdoor pursuits like hiking and cooling off in rivers and beaches.
AEMET said many parts of Spain would experience temperature around 10C (18F) higher than the normal for this time of year over the weekend.
On Saturday (April 13) 65 meteorological stations of the state network registered temperature over 30C and areas of the Pyrenees, northern Castille & Leon, southern Galicia and the Canary Islands even hit 33C, AEMET reported on the social media platform X.
