- Story Text: Thousands of people turned out on Sunday (June 2) in West Hollywood, one of the best-known LGBTQ communities in the United States, for their annual Pride parade.
Led by singer-songwriter Cyndi Lauper, the parade featured drag queens, go-go dancers, flag dancers, line dancers, moms giving hugs, rollerskaters as well as politicians, like U.S. Representative Adam Schiff, and attorney Gloria Allred.
Singer-songwriter Lizzo was in the crowds outside the parade talking to young fans.
Isabella Mota, 37, from Brazil told Reuters, "This is amazing. People are happy and enjoying like a good day. The day's getting beautiful. It's so calm and safe to be here. It's amazing."
Astor Yang, 34, from Los Angeles said, "It's like we're living in some pretty scary times right now and I think any event that is going to encourage love and acceptance, the better."
