- Story Text: Naked bike riders took to London's streets on Saturday (June 8), to protest car-centric culture in Britain's capital and celebrate body freedom.
The World Naked Bike Ride (WNBR) aims to demonstrate the vulnerability of cyclists, protest global dependency on oil, and create a fun and free atmosphere for participants and bystanders.
The ride started at various points across the city, before merging into a group of more than 1,000 cyclists that rode to the end point at Wellington Arch.
The route was diverted away from its normal path along Westminster Bridge to avoid tens of thousands of pro-Palestinian demonstrators who were marching to the Houses of Parliament.
Nude cyclists have gathered globally since 2004, with this year marking the 20th anniversary of the WNBR.
