- Story Text: Ivorians were not overly worried by being in the
toughest section of the World Cup draw with Argentina,
Netherlands and Serbia & Montenegro and Ivory Coast matched
in Group C.
"At this stage of the competition we should not be
worried. It is an international competition and all the
teams who are meeting at this stage are of an international
level. Ivory Coast team today is good. Certainly we have
Argentina which is heavyweight but today the Ivory Coast
team, as it is, can face any other team," the Head of the
Ivory Coast Sports Federation told Reuters.
The Netherlands, who reached the final the last time
the World Cup was held on German soil in 1974, were the
most dangerous non-seeded floater in the 32-team draw.
They are likely to advance with Argentina from their
group but neither will under-estimate World Cup debutants
Ivory Coast and Serbia & Montenegro. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
