- Story Text:Toronto celebrated its annual pride parade on Sunday (June 30) bringing together first-timers to the colorful tradition that celebrates support the LGBTQ+ community.
The parade featured a variety of displays, including people walking on stilts, women riding motorcycles, and numerous participants waving rainbow flags. Spectators from balconies joined those on the streets, watching the colorful procession unfold.
Gius Osagiede, shared his personal journey from Nigeria, a country he described as homophobic, to celebrating his first Pride in Toronto.
Local media reported a pro-Palestinian protest interrupted the parade. Around 6:00 pm local time organizers and Toronto police announced on social media platform X that the remainder of the parade was cancelled without outlining the cause.
