226 migrants on Saturday (July 20) rested and ate on board the Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) ship Geo Barents, while waiting to arrive in Italy.
MSF staff, after rescuing 179 migrants off the Libyan and Tunisian coasts in two separate operations on Friday (July 19) and a third rescue operation of 47 migrants off the Tunisian and Italian coasts on Saturday morning, distributed food and provided first aid on board.
The migrant rescue ship Geo Barents has been assigned to the Italian port of Livorno for disembarkation.
