- Story Text: Flights resumed at Germany’s Cologne airport on Wednesday (July 24) after air traffic was halted for several hours by “Last Generation” climate activists who had glued themselves to the runway.
Stranded passengers said they had no understanding for the protest.
Juergen Fischer called the airport shutdown “disproportionate” because it affected a lot of people, also financially.
“I believe the goal the activists want to reach is commendable and it should be in everyone’s interest but their means are excessive,” he added.
“Last Generation” said similar disruptions to push for an end of fossil fuels were planned by activists over the next few weeks globally.
