- Story Text: Hong Kong’s Chief Executive John Lee met with Vietnamese President To Lam in Hanoi on Thursday (August 1) during his three-day official visit to Vietnam.
The meeting came after bilateral talks between Lee and Vietnam’s Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang where they discussed boosting business ties between Vietnam and Hong Kong. The two officials also met with representatives from Vietnamese and Hong Kong businesses and enterprises, where they witnessed the signing ceremony of several agreements.
Lee's visit to the ASEAN bloc member nation is aimed at exploring Hong Kong's investment opportunities in Vietnam, including opportunities for Vietnamese businesses to access the Chinese and international markets through Hong Kong.
After Hanoi, Lee is scheduled to travel to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam’s largest business hub.
