- Story Text: On Thursday (3 August) the United Nations Development Programme presented to the Ivory Coast equipment which they had used in the seven year mineral development project carried out in the southeast part of the country.
Two drills, a bulldozer, prospecting vehicles, office and laboratory equipment, plus mineral samples were turned over in the ceremony.
United Nations representative Georges Makovsky made the official presentation on behalf of the U.N. Joachim Toure accepted on behalf of the government of the Ivory Coast.
The equipment will be rebuilt by the "Society for Mineral Development in the Ivory Coast" (SODEMI) for use in mineral development and other government projects.
