- Story Text:Thousands of Yemenis, mostly Houthi supporters, gathered in Yemen’s capital on Friday (August 16) in solidarity with Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
Protesters held up Palestinian and Yemeni flags and chanted slogans against the United States and Israel.
Yemen's Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi on Thursday (August 15) vowed an inevitable response to recent Israeli attacks, including the targeting of the Hamas leader Ismail Haniye, Hezbollah military commander Fuad Shukr and the Yemeni port city of Hodeidah.
"It is now a direct confrontation between us and the Israeli enemy, no matter what agreements were done between the resistance in Gaza and the Israeli enemy," said Houthi supporter, Sultan al-Sadah.
The United States on Thursday issued more sanctions targeting Houthi and Hezbollah trade networks, the U.S. Treasury Department said, as Washington increases pressure on Tehran and the Iranian-backed groups.
