  • Story Text: The 16th General Assembly of the Alliance of Cocoa-Producing Countries concluded its week-long conference on Friday (28 May), in Abidjan without reaching agreement on cocoa problems. The main topic to settle problems over cocoa prices, quotas, and stocks between consumers and the member countries of the Alliance -- Brazil, Cameroun, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria and Togo.

    Although an agreement was not reached, delegates were reminded of the difficult curse similar negotiations had taken over the past twelve years.

    At the conclusion of the conference, Mr. Leonard M'Pouma, President of the Alliance made a final statement, and introduced Mr. A.O. Oshinibi from Nigeria, who read an Alliance communique.
