- Story Text: Traffic in New Delhi slowed to a crawl on Thursday (August 29) morning after heavy rains swept across the Indian capital overnight, causing flash flooding.
Workers were seen pumping out excess water from underground to clear underpasses.
Motorcyclist Santosh Thakur said he experienced knee-deep waters that made it hard to ride on the roads.
New Delhi has experienced a series of extreme weather events in the past few months, from record high temperatures in May, to heavy rainfall in June that caused a deadly roof collapse at the city's airport.
