- Story Text:The rare species of 'Neelakurinji' flower which has a blooming cycle of 12 years, covered swathes of India's Nilgiris hills in shades of blue.
The endemic shrub, also known as the Strobilanthes kunthiana, is listed as a vulnerable species on the International Union for Conservation of Nature Red (IUCN) list in India's southern Tamil Nadu state.
