- Story Text: Drone footage on Tuesday (September 24) showed the Oder River on the German-Polish border reaching a water level of nearly 19 feet. Eastern German village Ratzdorf is preparing for potential flooding. This past week has seen floods wreak havoc across central Europe, leaving a trail of destruction in other countries as well, from Romania to Poland. However, residents of the German town remain optimistic saying they are monitoring the water levels and that they'll '"get through it". Sandbags and a flood prevention wall are among the measures taken to brace for the floods.
The National German Weather Service DWD predicts clouds and rain, occasionally with heavy rain and embedded thunderstorms, moving north-eastwards for both Tuesday and Wednesday.
