- Story Text: Argentine President Javier Milei welcomed his Salvadoran counterpart Nayib Bukele to Buenos Aires to discuss trade, security and nuclear energy issues on Monday (September 30).
The re-elected Bukele and Milei met at the Argentine Government Palace, also known as the Pink House. They went out on the balcony in the afternoon to greet those gathered outside.
The Argentine government has expressed its affinity for the controversial crime-fighting plan that Bukele put in place during his first term in office.
Bukele’s government’s security policies have been credited with reducing crime but also criticized by human rights groups.
