  • Story Text: Amidst a huge cheering crowd, both local and foreign, the third international Elephant race ended on Thursday (December 28) afternoon.
    The competition started on Tuesday (December 26) and most of the competing elephants were sponsored by trekking and tour agencies, both national and international.
    The event has become a spectacle for tourists from all around the world.
    "Oh, incredible tourist attractions, yeah, yes," said British tourist Phillipa Waterfield.
    "I think, it's very special for us to see something like this, because in Holland, we have - what kind of races do we have in Holland? - dog races, motor races, car races but, elephant races, yeah, that's really something special," said another tourist from Holland.
