- Story Text:Mexico marked the 114th anniversary of the Revolution on Wednesday (November 20) with a massive downtown parade in the capital that paid special tribute to women’s participation in the Armed Forces.
Thousands of Mexicans, dressed in revolutionary attire, paraded along Reforma Avenue—one of Mexico City’s main streets—toward the Zocalo Square, in front of the National Palace, where President Claudia Sheinbaum addressed attendees.
Participants re-enacted battles from the revolutionary struggle during the parade.
November 20th marks the anniversary of the start of the 1910-1917 Mexico Revolution when Mexican people took up their arms against the Porfirio Diaz regime, who had remained in power for more than three decades.
Mexico's Revolution Day is celebrated in Mexico as an official holiday.
