- Story Text: Wearing a purple sequin and tulle dress and white fur shrug by designer Dennis Basso, supermodel Naomi Campbell greeted fans and fashionistas on Tuesday (November 16) in Moscow's exclusive Tsum Department Store. Campbell was there to help Basso christen a new fur salon in the store.
The towering Campbell, who further added to her height with a pair of purple suede platform stilettos, posed with Basso and store officials for dozens of photographers before entering the salon.
The British model has been seen in the Russian capital on and off for two years, after meeting real estate oligarch boyfriend Vladislav Doronin at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival. Tabloids recently reported that Campbell and Doronin are planning to marry in Egypt next month, a claim she wouldn't confirm.
"I don't talk about my personal life. Thank you," Campbell said, when asked by a reporter about a possible wedding date.
In the salon, Campbell tried on furs and continued to mingle with guests, before departing for dinner at a restaurant near the famous Bolshoi Theatre.
In 1994 the supermodel famously walked naked down the runway in Paris wearing nothing but a banner reading "We'd rather go naked than wear fur". The stunt was pulled by United States-based animal rights charity PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) at the seasonal haute couture fashion show.
But the model's association with PETA was short lived as Campbell was dropped by the charity a year later after wearing a full-length fur coat at a Milan fashion show.
Campbell celebrates 25 years in modelling next year. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
