- Story Text: The British ambassador to Germany Simon McDonald and Berlin's sports and interior minister Frank Henkel have joined in the world-wide anticipation of the Olympic games on Friday (July 27) by ringing bells to symbolically join Big Ben in London at the Olympic stadium in Berlin, venue of the Olympic games in 1936.
The event was part of an art project of the British artist Martin Creed, as McDonald said: "Thousands of people in London and in the entire world ring bells of all sizes for three minutes simultaneously."
The project entitled "All the Bells" aimed to join Big Ben in London with the ringing of all sorts of bells available for three minutes "as loud and as fast as possible" as the website states. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
