- Story Text: Seventy-seven students from the King Faisal Air College in Riyadh graduated on Sunday (December 27).
The ceremony was attended by Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence and Aviation.
There was an air show that included the F-15, Tornado and the Typhoon.
Retired Lieutenant General Abed Al Aziz Mohammad Hnaidi talked about some of the planes on display at the ceremony.
"These aircrafts have two goals: air-to-air and surface-to-air. It can carry out both roles, it carries weapons for air-to-air fighting and weapons capable of striking targets. And it's undetectable by radar because it's a Stealth (fighter). It's considered as one of the best and most prestigious aircrafts," he said.
The Saudi Air Force has recently played a big role in fighting the Houthi Shi'ite rebels around Saudi Arabia's southern borders with Yemen.
"Our brave forces managed to cleanse the line near the southern border from the aggressors. So to all these martyrs who gave their lives and pure souls to ensure pride. We ask God to give them Paradise and give their families patience and fortitude," said Major General Turki Al Sudais, Commander of King Faisal Aviation College.
Prince Khalid Bin Sultan also attended the event. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
