The event, which draws thousands, highlighted the issue of street dogs, following the pilgrims during days and being stranded at the Basilica.
Animal protection organization Mundo Patitas has been actively rescuing dogs for over a decade, ensuring they receive care.
Abraham Borden, a local official, reported that the animals were attended to, with efforts underway to find them homes, showcasing the community's dedication to animal welfare.
