- Story Text: Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban on Tuesday (October 4) held talks with Saudi business delegations in an attempt to increase economic relations between the two countries.
The President of the Council of the Saudi Chamber, Abdullah Saeed al-Mobty welcomed Orban and his delegates in Riyadh for bilateral talks.
"By presiding over the European Union at the session of June 2011, you may work on urging the European side to sign a free trade agreement with the Gulf Cooperation Council," al-Mobty told Orban at the start of their meeting. Orban replied that Hungary was interested in adding Saudi Arabia to their coalition partners.
"Speaking for Hungary, we have obtained two-thirds majority in recent elections and thus Hungary became the most stable country in Central Europe and in all of Europe," Orban told the Saudi delegation. He then asked al-Mobty to agree on a joint economic committee. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
