- Title: Palestinians hold Friday prayers at al-Albani Mosque severely damaged by Israeli strikes
- Date: 20th December 2024
- Summary: Palestinians hold Friday prayers at al-Albani Mosque severely damaged by Israeli strikes SHOTLIST: GAZA STRIP, PALESTINE (DEC. 20, 2024) (ANADOLU – ACCESS ALL) 1. VARIOUS OF PALESTINIANS GATHERING AT NASIRUDDIN AL-ALBANI MOSQUE AND PERFORM FRIDAY PRAYERS UNDER ALMOST COMPLETELY DESTROYED ROOF SCRIPT Palestinians in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis performed Friday prayers on Dec. 20, at the Nasruddin al-Albani Mosque, which was heavily damaged by Israeli shelling. Israel has systematically targeted civilian facilities, including schools, hospitals, and places of worship, in its ongoing offensive on the Gaza Strip. Under the rules of war, targeting such civilian facilities can constitute a war crime. Israel has launched a genocidal war on Gaza that has killed over 45,100 victims, mostly women and children, since a Hamas attack on Oct. 7, 2023. The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants last month for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on Gaza. Writing by Aleyna Cil
