- Story Text: Syrians gathered in the streets of Damascus on Friday (December 27), with some holding posters of missing relatives, weeks after the ouster of Syrian president Bashar al-Assad.
"The last news I received of him (her son) was that he was in 215 (name of an intelligence branch) and he was hit on his head and suffered from brain haemorrhage and he died. This was the last news heard of him," said Ahlam Hashem, whose son remains missing.
Syrians have flocked to prisons looking for their loved ones. Some have been released alive, others have been identified among the dead and thousands more have not yet been found.
