- Story Text: President Sadat of Egypt and Saudi Arabia's King Khaled have held talks which are expected to have an impact on unified Arab action.
The Middle East News Agency was quoted as saying the talks held in Riyadh on Sunday (22 February), covered Middle East developments and bilateral relations.
The Agency quoted the Saudi Arabian second deputy premier, Prince Abdullah Ibn Abdulaziz, as saying the meeting would have an impact on bilateral relations and on unified Arab action.
Before the talks President Sadat was briefed on Saudi Arabia's five year development plan expected to cost five hundred thousand million Rials (about 70 thousand million pounds sterling).
The two leaders briefly reviewed the Middle East and current developments in the Arab world during a banquet the previous night.
On Sunday evening, the two leaders attended a banquet given by the Emir of Riyadh. They joined tribesmen in a sword dance.
Other Egyptians attending the talks included Prime Minister Mamdouh Salem and Foreign Minister Ismail Fahmy.
SYNOPSIS: The Nasiriyah Palace in the Saudi Arabian capital of Riyadh has been the scene of talks between President Sadat of Egypt and Saudi Arabia's King Khaled, President Sadat was accompanied by his Foreign Minister Ismail Fahmy and Prime Minister Mamdouh Salem. The delegates from Saudi Arabia included the first deputy Premier, Crown Prince Fahd Ben Abdulaziz and Foreign Minister, Prince Saud Al-Faisal. The Middle East newsagent was quoted as saying the talks would have an impact on bilateral relations and on unified Arab action.
Later President Sadat and King Khaled attended a banquet given by the Emir of Riyadh where they were entertained by desert tribesmen. The Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Saud Al-Faisal, said there was complete agreement on all topics discussed by the King and the Egyptian President.
The two leaders appeared to enjoy themselves when they joined the dangers at the banquets. The previous night the two had reviewed the Middle East situation and current developments in the Arab world.
