- Story Text: King Khalid of Saudi Arabia arrived in Jordan on Tuesday (???
December) to start a three-day visit.
While in Jordan, he held talks with King Hussein on strengthening cooperation between their two countries. They also discussed general Arab affairs.
The Saudi Monarch was accompanied by Prince Sultan Ibn Abdul Aziz, Minister of Defence and Aviation; Prince Saud Al-Faisal, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Dr. Mohammed Abdo Yamani, Minister of Information; and Dr. Rashad Faroun, the King's private adviser.
King Khalid is due to visit Syria at the end of his talks in Jordan.
On his arrival in Amman, he was received at the airport by King Hussein and members of the Jordanian cabinet, including the Prime Minister.
He was later given a "golden key" to the city of Amman by the Mayor.
SYNOPSIS: King Khalid of Saudi Arabia arrived in Jordan on Tuesday to start a three-day official visit. He was met at the airport by King Hussein and members of the cabinet including the Prime Minister. The Saudi Arabian King was accompanied by Prince Sultan Ibn Abdel-Aziz, his Minister of Defence and Aviation; Prince Saud Al-Faisal, Minister of Foreign Affair; Dr. Mohammed Abdo Yamani, Minister of Information; and Dr. Rashad Faroun, his private adviser.
A few hours after his arrival, King Khalid was received at the Royal Palace by King Hussein. The two monarchs held talks on the strengthening of cooperation between their two countries and on general Arab affairs. During his stay in Jordan, King Khalid was given a golden key to Amman by the Mayor and Board of Directors of the city. He took the opportunity to meet officers of the Saudi forces stationed in Jordan. King Khalid also had down as part of his itinerary a visit to one of the Jordanian army sites on the front lines.
