- Story Text: British soccer star David Beckham has arrived back in England for the first time since his controversial sending-off during the England-Argentina World Cup soccer match.
Manchester United midfielder David Beckham arrived ack in London on Monday (July 13).
He refused to answer reporters' questions regarding the send-off that dramatically changed the balance of the England-Argentina World Cup soccer match.
Argentina defeated England 4-3 on penalties in the second round after Beckham was controversially sent off just after half-time.
Beckham has been subject to a hate campaign from certain supporters angry about his behaviour leading to the send-off.
He will travel to Manchester on Tuesday (July 14) for pre-season training and to hold talks with the club about his future.
Beckham has been in Toronto, Canada, where he was watching his fiancé, "Posh Spice" Victoria Adams, perform with the Spice Girls as part of their American tour.
