I am 31 years old and who is to tell me what I have to do? If (teammate Zinedine) Zidane wants to tell me something he can do it on the pitch. In my private life and on my days off I do what I feel like and I will continue like that" 14. JOURNALISTS 15. (SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) REAL MADRID DEFENDER ROBERTO CARLOS SAYING: "Nobody is going to control me now, are they? Journalists asking 'are you upset Roberto?' No, everyone should do whatever they want; trips, meals; it does not matter" 16. PHOTOGRAPHER 17. (SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) ROBERTO CARLOS SAYING: "It annoys me because we (players) do not live for that (rumours) we live for football, with the ball at our feet. And we only talk about football. We do not talk about the private life of every human being. It is difficult to arrive at an airport and have journalists asking if you have a relationship -- very bad. If they ask us about soccer it is easier for us. I respect who is doing it (journalists) but we do not live for that" 18. JOURNALISTS 19. (SOUNDBITE) (Spanish) ROBERTO CARLOS SAYING OF CLUB'S POOR RECENT FORM: "The responsibility is ours, is on the players. We have worked but without much to show for it in comparison to a month ago. The best way to fix this up is to try to improve in next Saturday's match against Atletico. To win again and put pressure on Valencia and continue playing. But I think it is always the players responsibility , it is not our fault but it is our responsability becausue it is us playing." Initials Script is copyright Reuters Limited. All rights reserved

- Story Text: David Beckham returns to Real Madrid for training
after more allegations of extra-marital affairs.
After a week in the eye of a bad publicity storm
David Beckham returned to the relative calm of training
with his Real Madrid teammates on Tuesday (April 13).
Beckham had been with his family in London on Monday
because of tabloid newspaper reports alleging that he had
had two affairs. He has rejected the accusations and
appointed lawyers in connection with the stories.
Rumours about the state of the Beckhams' marriage
started last September after he moved to Real Madrid from
Manchester United. His wife, Victoria, stayed in Britain
with their two sons. Beckham's teammate, Roberto Carlos, told a
news conference in Madrid on Tuesday that what players did away
from the club was their own business.
Real Madrid lost 3-0 at home to Osasuna on Sunday,
ending what sporting director Jorge Valdano called the
club's lowest point in the past four years.
The club has fallen to second place in the league; lost
3-2 to Real Zaragoza in the Kings Cup final on March 17;
and were given an even bigger shock last week when Monaco
staged a stunning second-leg comeback to knock them out of
the Champions League.
