The Turkish Defense Ministry shared a video on its social media account which shows the moments of mid-air refueling. “At the request of NATO, aerial refueling was provided over Romania by a Turkish Air Force KC-135R tanker aircraft to an E-3A AWACS aircraft that took off from Geilenkirchen to carry out its duty as a part of Assurance Measures” the Defense Ministry stated on Thursday (September 24). Air-to-air refueling is important to the Air Forces’ warfighting ability as it increases airpower lethality and range.
