We have some problems with the people at the top as with other countries,” said Recep Tayyip Erdogan told reporters following Friday prayers in the metropolis of Istanbul. Continuing to criticize Israeli officials, Erdogan said: “Our relations with Israel would have been very different if there were no such problems with the people at the top.” Meanwhile, on the Palestine issue, Erdogan said Turkey cannot accept Israel's Palestinian policies. “We cannot accept Israel's Palestinian policies. We cannot accept Israel's attitude towards our brothers in Palestine. We cannot accept its cruel actions and its attitude towards the Palestinian lands,” he said. Turkey has been at odds with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu – now facing fresh elections in March – over several issues, including Israel’s attitude towards Palestinian lands.
