[...]" MONK TELLING MORE ABOUT SIGNIFICANCE OF THE DAY PATHUM THANI, THAILAND (JULY 13, 2022) (AAVN - ACCESS ALL) SCRIPT At the futuristic Wat Dhammakaya temple in Pathum Thani, Thailand, a massive display of hundreds of thousands of LED lights was held on the ‘Asahna Bucha’ Day, one of the most important holidays in the Buddhist religion. The temple arranged a large display of over 350,000 LED lights to depict Buddhist symbols visible from the sky. Wat Dhammakaya, located approximately 50 km from the capital Bangkok, is home to some of the world’s most unique Buddhist architecture, most notably the Cetiya dome. After two years of break due to the coronavirus pandemic, this is the first time that the temple has fully welcomed thousands of people. Still many participants attended the event via ZOOM call that was displayed on a large screen at the temple's courtyard. Thailand is a majority Buddhist country with over 90% of the population adhering to the faith. ‘Asahna Bucha’ Day, also known as ‘Asalha Puja,’ or ‘Dhamma’ Day, depending on which region you’re observing it in, is a Buddhist festival celebrated on the full moon of the eighth lunar month. Usually, this falls in July of every year. This religious festival honors the Buddha and commemorates his first-ever sermon and the establishment of the Buddha’s ‘sangha’ — known as the ‘Four Noble Truths.’
