VARIOUS OF DRONE FOOTAGE SHOWING ROCKET SHIP EKRANOPLANE PROJECT 903 "LUN" ON SHORE NEAR DERBEND CITY IN DAGESTAN, RUSSIA / PEOPLE AROUND EKRANOPLANE DERBEND, DAGESTAN, RUSSIA (RECENT, JULY 2022) (AAVN - ACCESS ALL) SCRIPT A unique missile carrier, the rocket ship ekranoplane of the project 903 "Lun" is currently on shore near Derbend city in Dagestan, Russia, located on the Caspian Sea. Aerial footage from the shore shows visitors around the huge ekranoplane. The Soviet shock ekranoplan-missile carrier was developed in the Central Design Bureau for the SEC named after R. E. Alekseev under the leadership of V. N. Kirillov. It was created at the Volga pilot plant and is the only fully built ship of the Project 903 out of eight planned. The main target of the missile carrier is aircraft carriers. The winged "Lun", due to its high speed of movement and stealth for radars, can approach aircraft carriers at a distance of accurate missile launch. On November 21, 2011, it was reported that the Russian military decided to abandon the development of ekranoplanes, and the remaining ekranoplanes would be disposed of in the coming months. However, activists have been petitioning to preserve the unique missile carrier. As a result, the ekranoplane was towed by sea to the shore near the city of Derbend in July 2020, and later it was pulled ashore.
