  • Story Text: President Trump originally planned to impose a 25% tariff on goods from Mexico and Canada starting Tuesday, (February 3), a move expected to severely impact U.S. businesses.
    However, just before the tariffs were set to take effect, Trump agreed to a 30-day delay after both countries negotiated a temporary pause.
    Despite the delay, small business owner Allisha Hale of Style Code Beauty Supply remains concerned about the potential price hikes that could affect both consumers and her bottom line.
    “I think that this is going to hurt across the board. You know, a lot of poor people think that Trump is the answer, but they’re going to quickly come to realize that, you know, you voted for him thinking that the price of eggs are going to go down, and what we're going to see is an increase in everything, including stress,” Hale said.
    While the tariffs on Mexico and Canada have been paused, U.S. tariffs on China are still scheduled to go into effect within hours.
