- Story Text: Pakistan kicked off its multinational 'AMAN' naval exercise, in Karachi on Friday (February 7), with the United States, China, Iran, Russia, Japan and Australia amongst the foreign navies in attendance.
Pakistan naval officials said the biennial event, 'Exercise AMAN 2025', is designed to enhance maritime security and foster cooperation among participants to combat regional and global threats.
Flags of participating nations and territories were hoisted alongside Pakistan's flag at the official opening ceremony of the exercise at the Pakistan Navy Dockyard on Friday.
Commander of the Pakistan Fleet, Rear Admiral Abdul Munib, emphasized the importance of joint operations and naval stability in his opening address. He also highlighted a 'Peace Dialogue' component, which was "a platform for naval and coast guard leaders worldwide to discuss pressing maritime concerns," he added.
The five-day multinational naval exercise is set to conclude on Tuesday (February 11).
