- Story Text: The world’s largest children’s choir sang an array of Bob Marley songs on Thursday (February 6) in honour of the late musician’s 80th birthday.
Hundreds of thousands of children came together from around the world to sing hits including ‘One Love’ and ‘Three Little Birds’.
According to organisers, children at 2000 schools from over 50 countries, including the United States, Zimbabwe and Jamaica, participated in the event.
While 8,000 children sang live from Manchester’s Co-op Live arena, the majority of performers joined the event remotely.
Bob Marley, whose hits with The Wailers included "No Woman, No Cry", "Jamming" and "I Shot the Sheriff", was born on February 6, 1945 in the rural Jamaican town of Nine Mile. He died from cancer in 1981, aged just 36.
