- Story Text: With less than three weeks before the German elections, German streets are filled with a vital part of German campaigning - election posters and billboards.
With time slots for radio and tv advertisements dependent on the size of the party and not on who can spend the most money, election posters are still one of the more important ways for German parties to fight for voters' attention - and ultimately votes - outside of the internet.
From the big parties polling in the double-digits to smaller parties who are fighting to clear the necessary 5% threshold, the German streets are open for everybody who can afford to print and put up posters.
Equally however it is also open to political criticism as various cases of vandalised election posters show.
As of February 6, German pollsters Infratest put Scholz' SPD at 15, the opposition CDU/CSU at 31, the far-right AfD at 21, the liberal FDP at 4 and the BSW left leaning party at 4.
