- Story Text: Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping arrived in Singapore for an official visit on Sunday (November 14) and held talks with Singapore Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew, Chinese state-run media Xinhua news agency reported.
Xi's visit to SIngapore is part of a four-nation-trip in which he will also pay visits to South Africa, Angola and Botswana.
Singaporean government officials welcomed Xi on his arrival at the airport.
During the meeting with Lee, the Chinese vice president hailed the development of bilateral relations and expressed the will to boost further friendly relations between the neighbouring countries, reported Xinhua.
During his stay, Xi is scheduled to meet with Singaporean President Sellapan Ramanathan and other senior ministers, according to Xinhua.
Xi said his trip was aimed at improving mutual trust, deepening co-operation and boosting common development, said Xinhua.
China and Singapore established official diplomatic relations in 1990.
