- Story Text: Chinese Premier Li Peng on Saturday (December 15th) arrived in Vientiane to discuss regional and international issues with Laotian leaders.Laos was the third stop on Li's four-nation Asian tour stating with Malaysia and the Philippines and ending in Sri Lanka.
Li is the first Chinese head of government to visit Laos since invited to the country by Kaysone Phomvihane, chairman of the Laotian Council of Ministers.
The Chinese Premier said on arrival he was convinced his visit would strengthen the good relation between the two neighbours and contribute to regional peace and stability.
