VARIOUS OF PROTESTERS SCRIPT: Thousands of protesters gathered in San Sebastian, in Spain’s Basque region, on Saturday to demonstrate against Israel’s renewed attacks on Gaza, which broke the ceasefire agreement. The protest was organized by the civil society group “Gernika-Palestina,” a Palestine-supporting organization. Demonstrators called on the international community to push the Israeli government to resume the ceasefire and halt the destruction of Palestinian lives. Under the slogan “Stop the Genocide, Israel Must Immediately Ceasefire,” participants chanted “Killer Israel” and “Freedom for Palestine.” In the manifesto read during the protest, organizers condemned Israel’s actions, stating, "After two months of ceasefire hope, Israel resumed its attacks on Gaza with open support from the Trump administration and the indifference of the international community, leaving the Palestinian people once again deprived of basic necessities like water and food." The manifesto further stated, "In Gaza, humanitarian aid and better living conditions were erased with a stroke of a pen. Israel once again chose genocide and physical destruction. While children, aid workers, and the media were under scrutiny, Israel ruthlessly bombed the Palestinian people." Protesters urged the international community to use all available means to pressure Israel to adhere to international resolutions, return to the ceasefire, and ensure the Palestinian people’s rights are upheld. They also called for Palestine to be granted the right to build its future with justice, land, and peace. The demonstration concluded with a symbolic gesture: empty children’s shoes were placed on the ground as a tribute to the children killed in Gaza by Israeli attacks.
