The wildfires, which began in Sancheong County, have extended to Hadong County, according to Yonhap News Agency. As of Monday morning, 36 helicopters and over 2,300 firefighters and soldiers have been deployed to South Gyeongsang province, about 250 kilometers southeast of Seoul, to contain the fires. The wildfires have resulted in four deaths, six injuries, and the destruction of over two dozen buildings and two Buddhist temples. Officials reported that nearly 600 people have been displaced in both counties. As of Monday morning, 70% of the wildfires in Sancheong have been contained.
