- Story Text: Controversial U.S. radio host Howard Stern, whose best-selling book "Miss America" features him on the cover in drag, on Tuesday (January 9) topped the annual "Worst Dressed Women" list compiled by fashion guru Mr Blackwell.
"Let's face it, Howard's 'Miss America' drag looks like Godzilla impersonating Gypsy Rose Lee," said the acerbic, self-appointed arbiter of fashion, who has appeared on Stern's synicated radio talk show.
Last year's "winner" -- Prince Charles' long-time love Camilla Parker Bowles -- was relegated to sixth on this year's list.
Blackwell dubbed her "the Queen of fashion frump.
"Ms Bowles is the biggest bomb to hit Britain since the Blitz," said Blackwell.
Another Englishwoman, actress Emma Thompson, made the latest list of the badly dressed. "It's been said the Lady of London acts with passion and power, but I think her designer should be sent to the Tower (of London)", Blackwell said of this year's number nine.
In second place was rocker Courtney Love - "calamity strikes again," with actress Drew Barrymore third.
Fourth-placed Whoopi Goldberg also came in for a tongue-lashing from Blackwell, who has become famous for skewering the sartorial foibles of the rich and famous.
And number five, Diana Keaton, whose clothes in "Annie Hall" sparked a fashion revolution 20 years ago, is no longer in the forefront, according to Blackwell.
"Diane's fadish fashions were once kooky, but 20 years later she's positively spooky." Rounding out this year's list: actress Jennifer Jason Leigh, rocker Melissa Etheridge and actress Christina Applegate. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
